Marion Body Works has been participating in the Youth Apprenticeship program through Wolf River School to Work for the past 10 years and in that time we have had the pleasure of working with 6 students, 1 in Manufacturing and 5 in Engineering. Being the mentor for the Engineering students has been a great experience and very rewarding for me as I get to help them learn and grow, both as an employee and a person. The company has benefited from the help of the students working on and completing many improvement projects and tasks. I think that this is an awesome program for the students! What a great way for them to gain experience in the work force. It truly helps them decide if they want to go onto college or in some cases decide not to go to school and continue to work full time with the company. Our business is far more technical than most people realize, and our Youth Apprenticeship students from the Wolf River School to Work Program really take an interest in all aspects of our process here at Klein Coatings. Our business is very specific to application processes and procedures including coatings measurements, mix ratio's, spread rates and record keeping. Students ask me for literature to take home and read and inquire into further certified training programs, which is very impressive to see from high school students. It is refreshing to have our students take such an interest in their role here, and I believe it is directly related to the caliber of the people who want to be in the Wolf River School to Work Program.
